Maintenance Operative

What do you need?

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role
• Due to the on-call nature of the role, a driver license is required
• Ability to work alone, as well as a team and be able to form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and colleagues
• Must have a positive attitude to residents

Monday to Friday 08.00 to 17.00 (40 hours per week).

You will also be part of the on-call rota worked Friday to Monday 17.00 to 08.00. If called out to one of our services in the South Region, mileage will be paid from home to service at £0.45p per mile and you will receive an on-call payment of £75.

What will you be doing?

• Installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building, fixtures and fittings
• General plumbing including washers, taps, unblocking toilets, unblocking stacks
• Basic carpentry such as new locks, architrave, boxing in, assembling furniture
• Replacing handles and similar hardware easing and adjusting windows and maintaining restrictors
• General painting & decorating, including tiling
• Basic electrical maintenance such as changing light bulbs, fuses and sockets
• Carry out planned tasks in accordance with agreed timeframes/requirements
• Ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety
• Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work

Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them unsuitable to live in dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.

We currently have 4 homes based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, Mytchett & Wincanton and are in the process of building a new service in Bristol due to open in early 2025.
