Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for a Laundry Assistant to join our award-winning team at South Africa Lodge. South Africa Lodge is a 99-bedded service providing high quality care across 6 specialised units supporting residents with varying complex care as well as providing a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated GOOD with CQC.
What do you need?
- Previous experience in a similar role
- You will have the ability to work alone, as well as a team and be able to form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and visitors
- Must have a positive attitude to residents
- Effective communication skills
- Previous experience working in laundry in a care home (desirable)
What hours will you work?
Working for us gives you more time for you with a 7 out of 14 day working pattern
- Week 1 – 3 days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (07.00 to 17.00)
- Week 2 – 4 days: Monday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (07.00 to 17.00)
Total average of 30 hours per week
What will you be doing?
- Laundering and ironing a range of materials including residents personal clothing as well as bedding and kitchen linen
- Ensure that all bed, table and kitchen linen is laundered to a satisfactory standard
- Keep the laundry area kept clean and separate areas maintained for freshly laundered and soiled articles
- To segregate and distribute resident’s clothing and linen as requested
- Complying with regulations including COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures
- Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy specifically in the handling of soiled materials
