Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
40 hours per week
You will be required to be part of an on call rota.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to support the Registered General Manager in leading the day-to-day operations, clinical governance and delivery of exceptional person-centred care within our specialist complex care home.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified nurse leader to play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and resident experience, while supporting and developing a multidisciplinary team.
Working closely with residents, families, healthcare professionals and colleagues, you will promote a culture of compassion, accountability and continuous improvement, ensuring our residents receive outstanding care that enhances their wellbeing and quality of life.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Registered General Manager with the operational and clinical leadership of the home.
- Act as the named deputy, assuming responsibility for the home in the General Manager's absence.
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, promoting a positive and values-led culture.
- Drive high standards of clinical governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee audits, action plans, safeguarding investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support recruitment, induction, supervision, performance management and staff development.
- Ensure residents receive safe, effective and person-centred care tailored to their individual needs.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, commissioners, regulators and healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and review quality, safety and compliance using digital care and governance systems.

Essential Experience
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration.

Previous leadership experience within a complex care, neurological, mental health or specialist care environment.
- 3 years experience as a Deputy Manager
- Previous leadership experience within a complex care, neurological, mental health or specialist care environment.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance and safeguarding practices.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage quality improvement initiatives and drive positive outcomes.
- Experience using electronic care planning, risk management or clinical governance systems.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding person-centred care
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or working towards.
- Experience in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), NAPPI or similar de-escalation frameworks.
- Knowledge of neurorehabilitation and least restrictive practice.
- Experience supporting CQC inspections and regulatory compliance programmes.
- Recognised mentorship, coaching or leadership qualification.

You’ll have 3 years experience as a Deputy Manager within health or social care, with a strong understanding of what good looks like in a regulated care environment. Whether your background is clinical or operational, you’ll bring the confidence to lead by example, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
