About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and friendly Maintenance Operative to join our team at Marula Lodge, a welcoming home for 42 residents with complex care needs across four specialised communities.
Your mission? To keep our home and grounds in top condition, creating a safe, comfortable environment where residents truly feel at home.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintaining high standards throughout the home and grounds
- Handling installations, inspections, repairs, and general upkeep
- Plumbing tasks (fixing taps, washers)
- Basic carpentry (locks, furniture assembly)
- Painting, decorating, and tiling
- Electrical basics (changing bulbs, sockets)
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards
- Keeping accurate records of your work
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year’s experience in a similar role
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Experience in care or hospitality (essential)
- Health & Safety qualification (desirable)
- A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine care for residents’ wellbeing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Hours & Benefits
- Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:30 (40 hours per week)
- On-call cover providing telephone advice and attendance in person as needed for the South East region (with mileage paid at £0.45 per mile, £75 on-call payment, and time-and-a-half pay for call-outs)
