About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team at Cornerstone Healthcare Group as the Clinical Development Lead!

As part of the Quality & Compliance Team, you will focus on implementing effective clinical outcomes, clinical peer supervision and support, best practice approaches with a continuous quality improvement focus, and delivery of the clinical audit and practice development schedule. This includes ad-hoc audit and investigation requirements, across all of Cornerstone Healthcare’s services. This is a diverse role, with opportunities to drive innovative, evidence-based practices that improve outcomes for residents living with complex neurodegenerative and mental health conditions.

This role includes regular travel to services based in Hampshire, Surrey, Bristol, and eventually Birmingham, in the coming 12-18 months.

What hours will you work?

Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 (40 hours per week)

What do you need?

  • Nurse Qualified (RGN/RMN)
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practice guidelines
  • Working knowledge of the new CQC Single Assessment Framework Quality Statements
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on research and best practices in the field
  • In-depth knowledge and application of MCA Assessments in accordance with the MCA Act 2005 and understanding of the MCA 1989 (s.117 aftercare)
  • Expertise in CHC, FNC, ICB, and Local Authority funding/commissioner requirements (preferable)
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience with neurodegenerative and mental health conditions
  • Experience of managing clinical projects which have had an organisational impact
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working clinically with residents with additional support needs

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT skills

What will you be doing?

  • Overseeing and coordinating clinical aspects of care
  • Working closely with the General and Clinical Managers to ensure the delivery of person-centred care
  • Providing clinical guidance, group supervision / peer support, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Supporting with preceptorship training of newly qualified Nurses with the NMC as applicable
  • Supporting with Clinical Audits, conducting thorough clinical investigations into anomalies regarding safeguarding and clinical safety issues.
  • Providing sound, evidence-based recommendations for service improvements, to the Local and Group Clinical Governance Committee forums.
  • Confidently delivering robust, thought-provoking and engaging training workshops, for clinical staff, enhancing clinical skills, theoretical knowledge and conceptual understanding of clinical practice.
  • Completing clinical competency assessments for Medication Management and other clinical practices, including, but not limited to; VOED, Venepuncture, Oral Suctioning, Catheterisation, Syringe Driver, Pressure Ulcer care, as required.

About Us

Cornerstone Healthcare Group provide specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs.

Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them unsuitable to live in dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.

We currently have 4 homes based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, Mytchett & Wincanton and are in the process of building a new service in Bristol due to open in early 2025.
