DEPUTY MANAGER
Location: Kitnocks House, Curdridge, Southampton
Contract: Full-time, 40 hours p/w, permanent
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience)
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our leadership team at Kitnocks House in Curdridge.
As Deputy Manager, you’ll work closely with the Registered General Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and person-centred care for residents with complex neurological, physical, and mental health needs.
You’ll provide visible leadership, nurture a positive team culture, and act as the Responsible Person in the General Manager’s absence, promoting accountability, professional standards, and the values that make Cornerstone unique.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, motivate, and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional, person-centred care.
- Oversee daily clinical operations, governance, and compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Review audits, incidents, and care plans to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality service delivery.
- Support recruitment, induction, supervision, and development of colleagues.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and professionals, ensuring open and transparent communication.
- Champion safeguarding, medication management, and health & safety across the home.
About You
You’ll be an experienced leader within health or social care, with a strong understanding of what good looks like in a regulated care environment. Whether your background is clinical or operational, you’ll bring the confidence to lead by example, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Essential
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with current NMC registration.
- Proven leadership experience in complex care, neurological and mental health.
- Previous leadership experience within a care/nursing home environment.
- Strong understanding of CQC Key Lines of Enquiry and clinical governance.
- Skilled in coaching and developing others, fostering teamwork and accountability.
- Digitally confident, ideally with systems such as Radar, Nourish, or Camascope.
- Compassionate, organised, and committed to the wellbeing of residents and colleagues alike.
