Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for an experienced and passionate HR Assistant to join our award-winning team at Kitnocks House. Kitnocks House, is a 63-bed service providing high quality care across 4 specialised units supporting residents with varying complex care as well as providing a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated Overall Good with CQC.
We are looking for a HR Assistant to support the service with HR administration and employee related matters across the service. Working with the HR team, you will manage systems for keeping records and information up to date, processing and producing monthly metrics and produce and maintain accurate employee HR records.
What will you be doing?
- Inputting absence details from return-to-work forms and fit notes, ensuring all information is passed to payroll.
- Produce standards references for leavers when required.
- Produce monthly HR metrics
- To induct all new starters
- Ensure leavers process is followed, resignation acknowledgment letters.
- Issuing ID cards.
- Ensure Buddy paperwork is issues and returned.
- Probation period forms 1, 3 and 6 months to be issued and ensure they are returned.
- Work in conjunction with the HR Assistants, ensuring appropriate knowledge of the role to deal with day-to-day work priorities and can cover each other’s duties.
- Responsible for producing letters (from templates) for all staff and any amendments to an employee’s terms and conditions of employment during the course of employment.
- Responsible for producing HR staff files as per standard requirements and for ensuring that records are kept up to date and filed as per the agreed protocol.
- Responsible for maintaining and regularly updating the HR database in line with any absence, contract changes made or new starters/leavers
- Responsible for keeping excel spreadsheets updated. For example, Nurse PINS, staff audits
- Ensure reconciliations are done daily.
- Support with project work when required.
- All filing to be kept updated
- Attend weekly HR Meetings via Teams
- Be responsible for your own Health & Safety and promote safe working practice in the work place.
- In conjunction with the service, develop a positive public profile of the service ensuring good communication, relationships and that staff represent the service in a professional way.
- To carry out any other appropriate duties as directed by the Head of HR
What hours will you work?
Monday to Friday 09.00 to 17.00 (40 hours per week).
What experience do you need?
- Minimum of Level 3 CIPD in HR (Essential)
- Minimum of 12 months UK experience in an HR Assistant role or above
- Experience in Healthcare (Desirable)
- A good standard of general education
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to provide work to tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Microsoft Office / IT skills
